SUNNYSIDE UP MOMENT - MAY 17, 2020

DAY SIXTY-TWO OF THE CORONAVIRUS QUARANTINE FOR US AT STACK 'EM HIGH PANCAKES AND SO FORTH

Robert Louis Stevenson reminded us that the best way to enjoy the ride is to “sit loosely in the saddle of life.”  With the strife of a pandemic around us and the first named storm of the season already just ahead of us we decided to put worry behind us.  Yesterday, we welcomed two rescue labs into our home.  We have been on a list to adopt a bonded pair of older dogs for over a year, and last week the stars lined up.  With two kids, two beehives and two chicks, the addition of two dogs seems only natural, right?  An old friend in Ohio used to say, “variety is the spice of life.”  The newest, and oldest, additions to our family eleven-year old, Darby and Emma, are rather deaf, follow no commands and most likely are not in line for Fulbright Scholarships, but they sure are spicy!  The slobbering, snorting, snuggling siblings have quickly upended our splendid isolation.  But it was time to wake from our cozy slumber anyway.  This is not a dream.  This is our crazy life, and now it's twice as nice!
